I have always
been a believer, yet my walk truly began when life
spun out of control. I was barely in my twenties
when I was introduced to real disenchantment.
My refiner's fire came in the form of a marriage
I had poured everything into, only to end with a
broken heart. For years, I faced a seemingly roller
coaster battle with brokenness, depression and confusion.
It was in these times that I learned to seek, cling
and trust in Him…
November 19, 2002
- One night in anguish, I cried out to the Lord.
I understood that "there is a season for every
activity under heaven." I wasn't asking
for the fruition of His promises if it wasn't the
right time yet, but I just wanted to be reassured
that He hears me. In desperation I looked
up and asked, "If you do, please show me a
sign. Please give me a shooting star."
For more than an
hour I waited outside…nothing. I came
back to my room even more depressed and now worse
- hopeless! "He doesn't even listen to
me." I turned the TV on and left it on
the news. I really could have cared less what
was playing. I just couldn't stand the deafening
silence.
Suddenly, my ears
opened to the Meteorologist saying, "You guys
are in for a treat! Come out between 2:00a.m.
to 3:00a.m. because there's going to be a meteor
shower!" I leaped to my feet! Could it
be that He was listening to me after all?
Early that morning,
when it was still dark, I went outside and waited
in anticipation. At about 2:30a.m., the falling
stars started coming. One by one, it came.
At first, there were only a few, then more and more
came beautifully cascading down from the heavens,
illuminating the pitch black sky. He sent
so many, I couldn't count them all at once!
At its peak, the most I could number was 15 shooting
stars simultaneously without losing track.
There were just too much to count. It
was breathtakingly innumerable! The 2002 Leonid
Meteor Shower was one of the most spectacular sights
I have ever seen.
He did hear me.
In HIS TIMING, it came and it was
beyond what I ever imagined or expected. "Exceeding,
abundantly, more than I ever prayed, asked for and
thought of." Yet this is only one of
the countless wonders He continues to bless me with…along
with Himself.
"In Him we
live and find our being." In Him, we
are made complete. Beloved, there is no other
way.
My METEOR
SHOWER...that's how great of a God I serve! |
